Quality Addiction Treatment, Close to Home in Redwood City

A 63-bed Peninsula campus on Woodside Road, founded as a Sequoia Hospital partnership eleven years ago — so Bay Area residents do not have to drive to San Francisco or Stanford for evidence-based detox, residential, and outpatient care.

Built by Sequoia Hospital. Run for the Peninsula.

WMT Rehab opened in 2015 as a clinical partnership with Sequoia Hospital after San Mateo County overdose admissions climbed for three consecutive years. The founding team wanted a treatment center close to home — where Peninsula residents could heal without leaving their support network, and where the doors stayed open to anyone ready to begin, regardless of insurance, immigration status, or the language they spoke at the kitchen table.

Eleven years and 7,600+ alumni later, that founding commitment still defines us: stigma stops at our front door, and care reaches the Peninsula instead of pulling Peninsula residents away from it.

Why Choose WMT Rehab

Peninsula, Close to Home

Most residents live within 25 miles of our Woodside Road campus. You do not have to leave the Peninsula, your family, or your job to get care that meets you where you actually live.

Hospital-Partnership Roots

Founded with Sequoia Hospital after a sustained rise in San Mateo County overdose admissions. Our detox protocols use the same emergency-medicine standards Peninsula EDs already trust.

Family Systems at the Center

Addiction reshapes whole families. Our family-systems clinicians involve parents, partners, and adult children in care from day one — because the people you live with after discharge matter as much as your treatment team.

Peer Accountability Built In

Every resident is paired with a recovery mentor from our alumni network at admission. Mentorship continues at no cost for twelve months after discharge — not as a sales upsell, but because the data shows it matters.

Cultural Humility, Not Performance

Clinicians speak English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Mandarin. Treatment plans are adapted to your faith, family structure, and community — not delivered from a single corporate script.

Stigma Stops at the Door

We do not require you to introduce yourself as an addict, qualify your story, or perform recovery for anyone. The first day inside our doors is the first day shame is no longer part of the deal.

Our Treatment Programs

Medical detox program

Medical Detox

3 to 7 days under 24-hour medical supervision, with withdrawal management protocols developed jointly with Sequoia Hospital emergency medicine. Buprenorphine, naltrexone, and benzodiazepine taper options are available when clinically indicated — so residents move into therapy stable instead of suffering through the first week.

Stories of Recovery

"I took a medical leave from my junior year at SF State after a second alcohol-related ER visit in eight months. WMT made the leave feel like a strategic pause, not a permanent setback. Their academic coordinator helped me hold my financial aid and re-register for the spring semester before I even finished residential. I graduated last June with a 3.7 — sober for fourteen months now."

— Jasmine L., SF State Senior, Residential & IOP Alumni, June 2025

"Our son had been using opioids since high school. Every program we called wanted us to ship him to Arizona or Utah — places we could not visit on weekends, places where we could not be part of his care. WMT was the first call where someone said 'come tour the campus this afternoon.' Eighteen months later he is working at his uncle's auto shop in San Carlos, and our family eats dinner together on Sundays."

— Patricia and Esteban N., Parents of WMT Residential Alumnus, March 2026

"I was twenty-three when I called. I had a decent tech job, but the weekend party stuff had stopped being weekend stuff. Walking into WMT felt less like 'going to rehab' and more like finally getting honest with a doctor. The clinicians showed me the data on what was happening in my brain, my sleep, and my mood. Two years sober, promoted twice, and I sponsor two other young adults from the alumni group."

— Daniel R., IOP & Alumni Program, January 2026
